Dr. Bougon joined the team in January 2022.
“I am originally from Bordeaux, France. I did my PhD in Microbiology and Immunology at the French Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health & Safety (ANSES) at the University of Rennes 1 (France). My PhD research focused on the study of the clinical and immuno-virological outcomes of successive infections of pigs with porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) and swine influenza A virus.
After I defended my PhD in December 2021, I moved to Halifax to join Khaperskyy lab for my postdoctoral studies on molecular mechanisms of host shutoff by respiratory viruses and their contribution to viral pathogenesis.
Outside of the lab, I enjoy reading, exercising, watching series and movies and hiking.”
