Nia Byway

Experiential student

Nia is investigating how coronavirus leader sequences are protecting viral mRNAs from Nsp1-mediated shutoff.

“I’m originally from Ottawa but moved to the East coast to complete my BSc at Dalhousie. I’ve recently joined the Khaperskyy lab as an experiential student working on coronavirus nsp1 interactions with their genome; a project which I plan on continuing this summer.

In my spare time, I enjoy painting, cooking, and biking around town.”
