Samin Ahmed

Honours student

Samin is investigating the mechanism of stress granule inhibition by influenza A virus nucleoprotein.

“I was born and raised in one of the most densely populated yet welcoming city in the world, Dhaka, in Bangladesh. I got enrolled at Dalhousie University as an undergraduate in the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology program. During my second year I fell in love with Virology and eventually decided to pursue my honors project at Dr. Khaperskyy’s lab. My honors project is focused on investigating the inhibition of stress granules by influenza a nucleoprotein.

Apart from the academics, I enjoy long hikes, clear skies, cooking and being bad at FIFA. I’m also a huge Dave Chappelle fan.
